Department of Community Programs

Dhulikhel Hospital follows the principles of social equity and gives high priority to community based activities. Within the span of 21 years, it has set an example of noteworthy progress in health services and health sciences education that can be achieved in rural areas of Nepal. The health services system of Nepal faces myriads of challenges. The Department of Community Programs (DCP) attempts to address the health issues in different rural areas in Nepal through a holistic approach, quality service delivery, rational community based methods, innovative public health interventions, and effective partnership programs. These are enhanced by proper monitoring, evaluation and quality control measures. All the departments and academic programs of the institute are involved in the community programs in their respective ways. Hence, the DCP also acts as a coordinating unit for all such programs.
